Massacre In Las Vegas

By John Kaniecki

My name is Stephen Paddock
Till recently obscure
My name is Stephen Paddock
But there is so much more
By now you know my name
And have damned me to hell
Still all the same
I have my tale to tell
Obviously something went wrong
Killing indiscriminately
As people reveled in song
Inflicting agony
Upon innocent strangers I never knew
Hear now my words
For they are true
If only I had a listening ear
To confess my trembling fears
If only I had a neighbor kind
To ease my troubled mind
If only others showed they care
Through more than thought and prayer
My evil deeds are said and done
But it was over before it had begun
For darkness takes time to ferment
And one can always repent
My name is Stephen Paddock
Think of me
Before you curse a stranger
My name is Stephen Paddock
Consider carefully the danger
For every act of Love or hate
Have a weight to tip the scales
And every act of Love or hate
Determines what prevails
So give a moment of silence
For the victims of my deviltry
And know in fullest confidence
That one of them was me
